A Classy Wedding at Ricarda’s
In late 2018, Laura and Adam celebrated their love in a stunning ceremony and reception at Ricarda’s. It was a beautiful, hot September day that consisted of unique photo locations, dancing, and Laura consistently making us laugh.
The day began at Hotel Le Germain, where the happy couple got ready for the big day. There were a lot of ladies in Laura’s room, and I mean a lot (you can see them all in a photo below of Laura popping champagne). It could have been overwhelming, but instead it created a very lively and exciting atmosphere! After an extraordinary reveal and some shots taken in the hotel library, we headed to Laura and Adam’s newly renovated home for some additional photos. This was a great idea because we were able to take a break from the heat to chug some water, as well as explore the couple’s fun new neighbourhood with them.
An installation called “Unzipped” was in Toronto that weekend, so we decided to take advantage of the public art and use it as a photo backdrop. After convincing the security guard to let us through, we had all of 15 minutes to shoot around this unique installation.
Afterwards, it was time to head to Ricarda’s for the ceremony. Ricarda’s is a new venue to the city, and we felt lucky to be one of the few to shoot there. It features modern architecture, big windows, and an abundance of natural light. Melissa Baum worked very hard with her team to make this space look even more beautiful and inviting.
The rest of the evening consisted of a very energetic hora, heartfelt speeches, and a round of late night food from a Toronto staple, Holy Chuck. I’m still dreaming of those milkshakes…
We all felt so lucky to be a part of this wonderful day, and to be able to work with such a lovely couple! We hope you enjoy reliving the day through all the photos we captured.
