This intimate Auberge Du Pommier Wedding proves simple is beautiful
Long before this couple’s gorgeous Auberge Du Pommier wedding, Danielle and Bill were big believers in the beauty of simplicity. More than that, they are living proof that the stars seem to better align when things are kept simple. Take the first time they met for example. That first encounter didn’t require any sort of algorithm or planning - they met by chance in a coffee shop while Bill was visiting friends in Toronto. See? Nice and simple.
For a while they did the long distance thing, but eventually Danielle joined Bill where he lived in Bermuda. Shortly after the move, Bill planned an elaborate engagement, but Mother Nature had other plans. Instead, the proposal happened during a quiet, unforgettable moment at home. Yet again, simplicity for the win.
Top reasons for hosting an intimate Wedding

Intimate moments that matter
Creativity means it’s all about options
More connections, more memories
Skip the pressure and relax
When planning their big day, Danielle and Bill opted for ease. Picking a venue was a simple choice given their top priority: exceptional food. Known for their fine dining and culinary excellence, Auberge Du Pommier was the perfect fit, delivering a deliciously decadent menu. It also boasted the exact ambience the couple was looking for: cool and fun. “I wasn’t too fussed about all the other little details,” Danielle confessed. She and Bill were focused on a celebration filled with delicious eats, a band that could get everyone moving, and a brilliant photographer to capture every moment.
Danielle had long been an admirer of 5ive15ifteen’s work and knew she wanted to work with us from the beginning. Our small team of Toronto wedding photographers created a collection of timeless photos for Danielle and Bill, relying on natural light and candid photos to capture the levity and joy of the day. No detail went unnoticed - from the gorgeous florals by Wild Vogel Works to the guests taking over the dance floor when the Brett Miller Band took the stage.
After getting to know Danielle and Bill, and admiring the beauty of their intimate Auberge Du Pommier Wedding, we’ve decided they’re definitely onto something. We’ve always loved the feeling, personality, and memories that come from a micro wedding and wanted to share our top reasons for hosting an intimate gathering.
1. Focus your spending where it counts
When you decide to have a smaller guest count, like Danielle and Bill’s perfect party of 65, you’re able to dedicate your budget to the things that really matter to you. Instead of cutting corners to make their vision work, Danielle and Bill were able to spend on the things they really had their hearts set on like a gourmet menu, sophisticated gown, and incredible live band.
2.Intimate moments that matter
One of Danielle and Bill’s favourite memories from their big day was when they were able to steal a quiet moment to themselves, to acknowledge the beautiful commitment they had just made to each other. A micro wedding allows you to spend more intimate time with each of your guests, and also enjoy more private moments with your partner.
3.Creativity means it’s all about options
A traditional wedding often means having to scale your ideas to fit the larger guest list. This can mean having to compromise. The moment you choose a smaller gathering, more options open up to you! You can get creative when picking your venue, your experience, or any additional special touches.
4.More connections, more memories
Given Danielle and Bill live in Bermuda, their intimate Auberge Du Pommier wedding provided the opportunity to catch up and celebrate with their closest family and friends. At a large event, it can often feel like a rush to get meaningful facetime. A small gathering allows not only the newlyweds the time and space to truly connect with their guests, but also for the guests to get to know one another and the photographer to capture more moments.
5.Skip the pressure and relax
Rather than juggling the many moving pieces and worrying about the pressure that sometimes comes with a big wedding, you can actually take the time to relax, take in each moment, and enjoy the happiest day of your life!
Being a part of this intimate Toronto wedding was such a privilege - thank you Danielle and Bill for letting us be a part of your beautiful day. True to form, the newlyweds are loving life on a private island in Bermuda - their own, little oasis. These two really know how to live, right? Simple and beautiful.
