Why a Destination Wedding in Mexico could be the Perfect Fit for You
When it's time to start wedding planning, the first question on everyone's mind is “Where?” Here at 515 we love a destination wedding (for obvious reasons), and more and more we are seeing the benefits of traveling just south of the American border, to beautiful Mexico.
Why is Mexico the current hot spot for your destination wedding?
Let’s start with the obvious. Who doesn’t love the sun? From Cancun to Tulum, Riviera Maya to Cabo, Mexico offers beaches unlike any in North America, with consistent temperatures, stunning scenery, and turquoise waters, this country’s climate cannot be beat. Just don’t forget your sunscreen.
You will find the perfect resort - no matter your taste or comfort level!
Reason number two to travel to Mexico for your destination wedding? No matter your budget, there is a home away from home that is perfect for you. Mexico has conquered the all- inclusive industry, with resorts scattered along the coasts. From sophisticated and elegant, to over the top luxury, to adult only fun, you have no shortage of accommodation options that are suited best for you and your guests. If resorts aren’t your thing, don’t worry. From Tulum to San Jose del Cabo, there are gorgeous hotels and destination wedding venues with rooms and activities appropriate for you and all of your guests who are traveling for your celebrations.
Take a look at some of our favourite destination wedding venues in Mexico.
Over the years, 515 Photo Co. has been lucky enough to travel to Mexico numerous times with our destination wedding clients, often bringing us with them from Toronto to ensure they have a photography team they trust. Here are a few of our favourite Mexican experiences.
Welcome to the Jungle! Kima, Tulum.
Nestled away in the jungles of Tulum, Kima is a sanctuary that sits on two acres of property with multiple options for guests to roam, explore and celebrate. Did we mention it is eco-powered? We love to see it! In December we photographed the beautiful Roujin & Misha at this estate, and as you can see, the backdrop of the jungle makes for the perfect non traditional wedding. Dare we say we’re trend setters? It turns out Vanessa Hudgens and husband Cole Tucker found their dreamy destination wedding location in Tulum as well.
Sunset Monalisa, Los Cabos
We have had the privilege of shooting not one, but two Mexico Destination Weddings at the stunning Sunset Monalisa in Los Cabos. Arguably the best view in all of Los Cabos, or even Mexico for that matter. This restaurant venue offers the best view of the Arch of Cabo San Lucas. As the sun dips behind the cliffs you will be left with a starry sky (perhaps filled with fireworks) as you dance the night away to the sound of the rolling waves below. We’ll let the photos speak for themselves, but as you can see, the venue transforms effortlessly to suit any couple's individual style.
A feast for the eyes (and stomach): Hotel El Ganzo, Acre, and Flora Farms
Only a 30 minute drive from Sunset Monalisa is the artistic community of San Jose del Cabo, home of Hotel El Ganzo and the eye-catching and drool worthy venues; Acre & Flora Farms.
El Ganzo is the perfect hotel for you and your guests to get ready prior to venturing to one of the following properties for your wedding and reception. It was also the location of one of our most recent engagement sessions.
Both Acre and Flora Farms are just down the street. And both are home to properties you could spend hours exploring and amazing restaurants that will leave you wanting more.
