We love a destination wedding (who doesn’t??). We’ve been fortunate enough to travel to many exotic places over the years – Mexico, Costa Rica, Bali, Montenegro, to name a few! Recently, Mike and Eric shot a beautiful wedding in Playa Del Carmen. They decided to do something that we love to do on destination weddings – photograph a sunrise engagement shoot.
There are many wonderful reasons to have your destination engagement shoot as the sun rises.
There’s no one around! No tourists walking in the background, no old man scratching his back out of focus in the corner, no screaming kids to distract you. Just you and your partner with the whole beach to yourselves.
Mornings are typically cooler – no sweat pouring down your face, no make-up running.
Like sunset, sunrise gives you the most perfect, pretty, soft light. For this shoot, Mike and Eric were up at 5:30 and at the beach by 5:45 – a little early, but it’s honestly so worth it!
This shoot ended in the water, which is always so refreshing! Who doesn’t love a morning dip followed by breakfast mimosas?
Getting up early is never fun, but I promise, the results are worth it!

5.15 is when we wind down the work, turn up the music, and relax our way into the best part of our day: being with the people we love the most.
