Fall in love with this couple’s reimagined micro wedding at Graydon Hall Manor
Lauren and Corey’s micro wedding at Graydon Hall Manor was effortlessly beautiful. An ease that has graced the couple since the start of their romance. The two first met at an impromptu long weekend with mutual friends. “You have to meet Corey!” Lauren’s friends gushed - and the rest is history! Their engagement shared this same beautifully airy quality. “Corey asked me to join him in the living room for a second,” Lauren shared, “He was playing my favourite song so naturally, I started to dance.” Before she could finish her first twirl, Corey was holding a ring box and asking her to marry him.
While planning a wedding during the pandemic wasn’t quite as simple as how the couple fell in love, Lauren and Corey rolled with the uncertainty. After having to postpone and then cancel their originally planned Lake Como, Italy wedding, the couple serendipitously learned about Muse Event Co. and began chatting with Ellie Martires, Creative Director at Muse Event Co.. Dubbed their “fairy godmother planner”, Ellie helped the couple reimagine their wedding day and create a beautiful new vision for their micro wedding at Graydon Hall Manor.
“We never considered Graydon Hall as we were doubtful it would be available,” Lauren confessed. But when Ellie surprised the couple with the news that it was available on September 12th, without hesitation they asked, “Where do we sign?!” Boasting lush gardens -- so well-manicured and picturesque, magical tree canopies, and fairytale-worthy architecture, Graydon Hall turned out to be the perfect match for the couple’s dream outdoor wedding.
The overall feeling of the day was that something extremely special was happening for Lauren, Corey, and all of their beloved friends and family at their intimate wedding of 49. All of their guests had been isolated for so long, not having seen one another for quite some time. The joy, love, and excitement that the collective group shared brought a deeper meaning to this celebration of love.
With only six weeks to create this new vision, the couple and their team of planners worked from scratch (sans Pinterest board!) to design Lauren and Corey’s perfect day. “It all happened so fast, but what we did know was that we wanted everything to be elegant and romantic with flowers that popped.” said Lauren. Ellie worked off of some inspirations that Lauren had shared and conversations with the couple and created the magical beauty of that September day.
Ellie and the team at Muse Event Co. Events designed a gorgeous palette of soft creams, with light touches of lilac. Ken’s Flowers created stunning floral arrangements in shades of pinks and purples that could be found throughout, adding a touch of whimsy to the enchanting setting. A singer and pianist duo from Sole Power Productions, a slight-of-hand magician, cigar bar, and Death in Venice Gelato Cart brought entertainment and delicious fun in lieu of dancing. “An intimate micro wedding like ours can be thought of as an extravagant dinner party instead of something so traditional.” Lauren thoughtfully added.
While a full dance floor was not permitted, Lauren and Corey were able to share a favourite memory together as the two danced to Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight. Looking into each other’s eyes, unaware of anything else happening around them and instead completely absorbed in the moment - a first moment as newlyweds.
Our team of Toronto wedding photographers were there to capture the dream that was Lauren and Corey’s special day. No moment of celebration, love, and closeness was missed. The feeling of happiness and fun was present throughout the day, and joyfully captured by our photographers. Each photo of the couple, whether sharing an intimate moment together or with friends has family, has true bliss emanating from it. You can see it in everyone’s faces! In the candid shots of guests watching on or excitedly chatting with one another and in the editorial images of the couple dancing amidst a twinkling backdrop of sparklers. Effortlessly beautiful subjects, Lauren and Corey allowed our team of storytellers to capture the magic of this happily ever after wedding story.
It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience to be a part of Corey and Lauren’s very special day. We thank them for sharing it with us, allowing our team to capture timeless memories they’ll cherish forever. What’s next for these two? Planning a renovation, trying new cocktails and recipes, and dreaming of their Lake Como, Italy and Grecian hopefully-not-so-distant and much-deserved honeymoon.
