From Montreal to Palm Beach, 515 Photo Co. Documents this Couples Romantic Engagement Photos at The Colony Hotel
As one of Toronto’s best Wedding Photography Studios, we have the pleasure of witnessing and documenting beautiful love stories every day. Each couple's journey is unique, and filled with memorable moments. Victoria & Philippe’s story is no exception, in fact, it might be the ultimate example. From their chance encounter at a house party, to a cozy cabin proposal, to a Palm Beach engagement session at The Colony Hotel and then to a Montreal winter wedding in the historic Notre-Dame Basilica, their love story could be a hallmark mini series and we’re here for it! And so when they reached out to us, we knew we had the opportunity to capture their love in the most authentic and captivating way. This is the tale of how their paths crossed and the reasons why they chose us, 515, Toronto's Best Wedding Photographers.
In the heart of Montreal, amidst incredible food, music and unforgettable parties, Philippe and Victoria's love story began. Like all great love stories, they met at a party. A mutual friend had invited Philippe to one of Victoria’s gatherings, and as fate would have it, they spent the entire night chatting. Although they both pursued their studies abroad, their paths eventually aligned again when they returned home for the summer. Their connection remained strong, and they have been inseparable ever since.
Love stories are made up of countless magical moments, and their engagement, as Philippe would have it, was no exception. During the pandemic, Philippe crafted a cozy cabin nestled in the woods of Magog, Quebec, on his parents' property. It was in this intimate haven that he chose to propose, creating a one-of-a-kind romantic experience. After saying "yes," they headed down the road to Victoria’s parents' home, where their loved ones eagerly awaited to celebrate!
Next up, grab your passports, we’re off to Palm Beach! Palm Beach holds a special place in their hearts, as they’ve spent countless family vacations there at Victoria’s parents magnificent oceanfront home. After initially considering a destination wedding in Palm Beach, they decided to celebrate their love in their beloved hometown of Montreal for a gorgeous winter wedding. That being said, they still wanted to capture some fun in the sun. Thus, their engagement session was planned to juxtapose the sunny vibrancy of Palm Beach with the wintry charm of Montreal. That’s all we needed to hear, and we hopped on a flight with camera in hand.
Victoria & Philippe reside in Montreal, the city where their love story unfolded. Their December wedding will take place at the iconic Ritz-Carlton Hotel, a venue deeply rooted in their personal history (Remember the night they met? Oh yeah, that party was here). Embracing the festive holiday spirit, they look forward to hosting an enchanting celebration that will be etched in their memories forever. And we can’t wait to capture all of the magic!
So, why 515? In Victoria’s words: “When searching for a photographer for our wedding, I was really struggling to find someone who's style I was instantly drawn to. I had a specific look that I liked in mind, but when you're no photography expert like me, it can sometimes be difficult to put what you're looking for into words. When I stumbled upon 515 on instagram, I quickly knew I had found what I had been looking for. The look felt sophisticated yet cozy, with the right balance of planned shots and candids which are our personal favorites. They also seemed to have the perfect combination of both film and digital work which I truly appreciated, especially when trends are pulling you in either one direction or another these days. Both options are so unique and beautiful and in my opinion, you want to work with people who have the expertise and will give you a little taste of both.”
Well there you have it. Stay tuned for a look into their winter wedding in Montreal coming up this December.
