Unforgettable Destination Wedding at Kima in Tulum: Roujin and Misha's Love Photographed by 515 Photo Co.
You say destination? We say, when and where, we are there! The lush jungle of Tulum is the setting for this beautifully photographed destination wedding, hosted at Kima Tulum.
Roujin and Misha’s love story started one summer night in the Mission district of San Francisco, where they felt an instant connection. They embarked on a spontaneous trip to Denver on their second date and soon moved in together when the pandemic hit. Romance, am I right? After a whirlwind relationship, they decided to tie the knot in Tulum, Mexico, and opted for a wedding that reflected their stellar personalities, rather than conforming to a specific style or trend.
Kima Tulum was the perfect blank canvas for this destination wedding. Nestled away in the jungles of Tulum, this venue was a sanctuary from the rain and gave multiple options for guests to roam, explore and celebrate over its two acre property. Did we mention it was eco-powered? We love to see it!
For her wedding gown, Roujin chose a Lela Rose dress that was a perfect blend of modern and classic, while Misha went with a timeless white tuxedo jacket for himself and black tuxes for the groomsmen. Roujin’s bridesmaids were dressed in soft pink, and each one had the freedom to choose her own dress style and hair and makeup look. As you can see, these smashing looks, next to the backdrop of Tulum, was a feast for the eyes! Although her hair didn't cooperate due to the humidity, her mother was able to save the day with a single bobby pin and hair tie, creating a low bun look that turned out to be a beautiful solution. Roujin's second look was a fun and flirty Loulou floral appliqué tulle minidress, perfect for dancing the night away.
The venue and decor complemented the couple's style perfectly. When the rain started pouring down towards the end of dinner, it only lasted for a short while and ended up making the party even more lively and unique. The entertainment for the night was just as special, with a cigar roller, belly dancers, fire spinners, and an aerialist who poured tequila and mezcal shots into guests' mouths while hanging from the roof of the bar. Trust us, this was a party you did not want to miss!
The entire Tulum wedding experience was a true reflection of Roujin and Misha's love for each other and their individual, care-free style. From the wedding dress to the venue, everything spoke to their personalities and preferences. The result was a beautiful and unforgettable celebration of their love.
